Daniel was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and relocated to Northern Virginia in 2015. As a first-generation Colombian American raised in a Spanish-speaking household, he experienced firsthand the challenges immigrant families can face when navigating unfamiliar legal systems. As the first attorney in his family, Daniel understands the value of trusted legal guidance and the peace of mind it can provide. These experiences shape his approach to serving clients with empathy, clear communication, and practical advice.

Daniel’s path to trusts and estates law was shaped by his experience in tax law and helping individuals navigate complex audits with the Internal Revenue Service. Before joining PJI Law, he practiced at a Northern Virginia estate planning firm, advising clients on comprehensive estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters involving complex assets and multijurisdictional estates.

Daniel earned his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, where he served as a Note & Comment Editor for the American University Business Law Review and represented clients through the Federal Tax Clinic. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Florida. Daniel is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association and the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Counsel.

Daniel lives in Fairfax County with his wife, young daughter, and their dog, Luna. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, experiencing new cultures, and exploring new hiking trails.
