Carter McClain
Attorney
Carter was born in Richmond and has family roots throughout the state of Virginia, but spent most of his childhood in southern Mississippi. Carter’s parents instilled in him an eagerness to learn, and taught him the importance of hard work, integrity, and never judging a book by its cover.
During law school and after graduating, Carter worked for the Consumer Protection Divisions of both the Mississippi and Maryland Attorney General’s Offices, advocating for consumers who had been taken advantage of by unscrupulous business practices. It was there that Carter discovered a passion for helping people, particularly those who had been victimized by someone appearing to have more power, resources, or authority.
As an attorney, Carter draws from his upbringing and experience every day on the job. Carter knows that each client brings a unique problem and a unique perspective, and he believes that every solution, and the path to getting there, must be carefully tailored to fit each client’s particular needs. Some cases require tenacious advocacy to achieve the client’s goals, while others can be resolved amicably simply through an open dialogue. Carter is equally comfortable operating on both ends of this spectrum and everywhere in between, and he works diligently to find the approach that will most effectively and efficiently solve each client’s problem.
Carter lives in Arlington with his wife, Ali. Outside of work, Carter enjoys playing golf, chess, or watching sports.
